Beth Sloat has enjoyed painting and drawing from life in the local area since 2001. She has exhibited at numerous public venues, art galleries, and has work in private collections. With a BA from Hofstra University, she received her BFA in Graphic Design from Colorado State University and went on to work as a bio-medical graphic artist at Southwestern Medical School, Dallas. Later, she pursued her fine art studies at the Armory Art Center and, after completing her studies, continued to paint In plein air. After teaching art to children from pre-school through elementary grades at the Armory Art School summer camp for many years, she is now an instructor of Drawing and Painting for adults at the Boca Raton Museum School of the Arts and the Creative Arts School at Old School Square. Beth’s instruction emphasizes building a strong foundation for beginning students.
In her classes and workshops, she encourages competence, creativity and a contemporary attitude toward drawing and oil painting. With patience, support and respect for each artist’s unique abilities, she strives to instill a love of making art in all of her students.
