Martin Minch

Portrait of Martin Minch

The evolution of materials from one state to another is how my paintings, assemblages, and constructions evolve. I combine elements that one would never think could work together, yet unexpectedly they become coexistent in an exciting way. The unusual as well as mundane everyday objects I have collected over the years are combined in new, one of a kind pieces of art.  The beginning canvas may be an old piece of wood, an antique drawer or even a large bent up container cover...anything goes. The canvas and these items may have been discarded in a previous life and have now evolved into their new creative state. I am inspired by the works of such artists as Joseph Cornell, Salvatore Meo, Marcel Duchamp, and Man Ray. Anything goes...anything can happen...and that's very exciting!
