One of the longest running and most prestigious juried art festivals in Florida, the streets of Mizner Park in Boca Raton will once again be filled with a spectacular selection of art from across the country. The event attracts more than 40,000 art collectors and enthusiasts to the Museum’s doorstep every year. Original artwork is available for purchase, created by 200 artists and artisans from throughout the country. The public can purchase fine artworks in a diversity of mediums include: ceramics, wood, fiber, glass, drawing, painting, jewelry, photography, and sculpture. This is the only art festival affiliated with the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the only art festival permitted to occupy the full breadth of Mizner Park’s entertainment, shopping and dining complex which is centrally located in downtown Boca Raton, with free garage parking. Proceeds from the festival help support the museum’s educational programs for children and youth. “The museum was founded by artists more than seven decades ago in 1950, as one of South Florida’s first cultural anchors. For the past 33 years, the Boca Raton Museum Art Festival in Mizner Park has spearheaded our museum’s longstanding mission to champion both the creation and the experiencing of art,” said Irvin Lippman, the museum’s executive director. The Boca Raton Museum of Art stands as the heart of Mizner Park, and during the art festival will offer free admission to the museum too. This is the perfect time to see the current exhibition at the museum, Imagining Florida: History and Myth in the Sunshine State which brings together over 200 works by renowned masters and artists who traveled to Florida from the 1750s through the 1960s, and which has been making headlines nationwide including major press coverage in The New York Times, in Auction Central News, and in Antiques and The Arts Weekly. One of the longest running and most prestigious juried art festivals in Florida, the event has become a must-see celebration,” adds Irvin Lippman. “Because we are the only art festival allowed to partner with the entire Mizner Park entertainment complex that is located at the museum’s doorstep, festivalgoers also enjoy the unique setting of luxury retail shops and gourmet restaurants.” Twelve thousand dollars will be given in awards where excellence is determined. On-site judging of the exhibitors will take place during Art Festival hours on Saturday. The festival is presented by the museum in partnership with: The City of Boca Raton Government, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Discover The Palm Beaches Florida, and Mizner Park.
