Boca Raton Museum of Art's Annual Gala Dinner and Dance

Press Release
Over 300 guests celebrated a Florida-inspired evening and showed their support at the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s Annual Gala Dinner & Dance.  The event took place on Saturday, Feb 9 at the Royal Palm Yacht Club, where guests were greeted by the Museum’s Art School Teen Paparazzi.  Inspired by the Museum’s current exhibition: Imagining Florida: History and Myth in the Sunshine State, the refined elegance of the Royal Palm Yacht Club was accentuated by lush, tropical décor, regional cuisine, and live entertainment by the Warren Priske Band with a special cameo appearance by the 18 year-old Boca Raton singer Haven Star. Åsa & Per-Olof Lööf were the honorary chairs of the Gala, which was co-chaired by Paola & Markus Jakobson and Trish Savides.  In addition to Gala Sponsors and Underwriters, Corporate event sponsors Incapital, Wells Fargo Private Bank, Fiduciary Trust International, Crystal Cruises, Rocky Mountaineer, Mayors Jewelers, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Boca Magazine were also on-hand to support the evening’s activities.  Following remarks from Executive Director Irvin Lippman and Board Chair Jody H. Grass, the crowd enjoyed a lively auction the highlights of which included the Pacific Northwest Adventure with a luxury rail journey through the Canadian Rockies, Mediterranean Cruise, Aspen Art Crush package, and a vintage “Orange Blossom” Brooch donated by Museum Member Teri Klein. Boca High senior, Luke Lynch set a giving mood as he introduced the BOCA MUSE ‘Gift from the Heart,’ a special appeal to raise funds for children and teen programs at the Museum and its Art School that serve over 15,000 youth every year.   By the end of the evening, the Gala was successful in raising over $460,000 to support Museum exhibitions and educational programs “The momentum continues to build for the Museum to fulfill its destiny as ‘top-of-mind’ and the cultural centerpiece for Boca Raton, said Lippman” The overwhelming show of support, ensures that the Museum will continue to enrich the lives of new generations of artists and art enthusiasts in our community through exceptional exhibitions and educational programs.
