Vickie Pierre's Exhibition Empowers Marginalized Groups

In the News
The artist Vickie Pierre showcases her work at the 'Be My Herald of What's to Come' exhibition. Her pieces are on display now through September 5th, 2021, at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. The new exhibition casts a feminine deity spell within the Museum gallery. One notable installation is Pierre's 'Black Flowers Blossom (Hanging Tree),' which pays tribute to the souls lost to racial injustice, including George Floyd, Breonna Talor, Ahmoud Arbery, and countless others. Viewers experience a storybook feel as they move through the installations. The artist uses the fairytale motif to analyze and assemble the deeper truths about race, colonialism, and the princess complex. To do so, Pierre reimagines and restructures old folkloric stories for contemporary sensibility. More in link.
