The Art of Needle Felting (Ages 10-12)
Image
Students will learn the techniques of Needle Felting, a textile material that is produced by pressing wool fibers together, while creating two-dimensional works such as landscapes and portraits. Simple embroidery stitches will be incorporated to embellish the two dimensional creations. The class will transition to needle felting three-dimensional realistic or imaginative animal creations. Students will be exposed to the historical and practical uses of felted objects and the artistic creations using felted wool.
